Old Town Hall 1900

The area has changed dramatically over the years and many locations you will see in some of my picture have long since gone.

Take a look at our magnificent coastline with sandy beaches, Marsden Bay with its own Marsden Rock where in 1903 a choral service was held on the top.

Souter Lighthouse which was the first lighthouse in the world specifically constructed for electric illumination by carbon arc lamps when switched on in 1871.

Old Marsden village which no longer stands.  A self contained village which was built in 1874 and lasted less than 100 years.

Take a look at our town centre, King Street the market square and St. Hilda's Church.
